Hollie and Robin’s Wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn Congleton
Hollie and Robin chose me to be their Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding photographer at the stunning venue in Congleton to get pampered, say their vows, eat some canapes drink some prosecco, eat an amazing wedding breakfast and spend the whole day smiling and celebrating with all their guests before hitting the dancefloor for some awesome Blues Brothers action from the amazing Wedding duo The Birmingham Blues Brothers.
I arrived nice and early to greet Hollie and her bridesmaids at Sandhole Oak Barn. They were all busy getting pampered with hair by Carly Nelson and makeup by Emma Williams in the cottage. This was the first time I had photographed a wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn which is only about a 45 minute drive away from Manchester and set in a beautiful countryside location in Congleton. The exclusive use barn itself is light and airy with huge floor to ceiling wooden beams and outside there is a stunning picturesque lake which is the perfect setting for formal group photographs and Bride and Groom portraits in the late summer sunshine.
The first thing I spotted as I went into Bridal Prep wasHollies amazingly beautiful Wedding Dress by House of Mooshki which she found and fell in love with at Cheshire Bridal Wear in Altrincham Manchester.
The stunning wedding bouquet and bridesmaids flowers arrived and they were by Flowers on the Cobbles in Sandbach. The colours were lovely pinks and pastels and everything coordinated beautifully.
My beady eye spotted the brides gorgeous Kurt Geiger shoes and a matching bag that will certainly be going on my christmas list! I obviously took a million photographs of them to keep in my own personal shoes and handbag photo folder!
Sandhole Oak Barns ceremony room is gorgeous and as you would expect by its name it is full of solid oak beams and beautiful light by the floor to ceiling windows at the end of the room. The room feels warm and there is plenty of space for us photographers to move around. The ceremony was full of emotions and a few handkerchiefs were handed out to our bride and groom! I just about managed to photograph through the ceremony with my eyes welling up too! The stunning wedding rings were designed and made by Rob’s Dad who owns Moodys Jewellers in Nantwich, he also made all the bridesmaids bracelets and Hollies bridal jewellery. The happy newly weds made their way through a confetti storm down the aisle and outside around the lake and Clock Tower for reception drinks and canapés along with plenty of hugs, smiles and a few more tears of happiness.
The Wedding Breakfast and the Evening Reception
The sun was shining throughout the day and despite it being a little bit windy (which by now Hollie and Rob are very much used to as you can see in their Pre Wedding Shoot) we managed to get some lovely late afternoon golden sunshine. The wedding ceremony room was quickly turned around for the wedding breakfast where the celebrations continued. Rob’s mum did all the table flowers and spent months and months planting seeds and bulbs and growing all the flowers. The food at Sandhole was amazing, and after being well fed and watered the speeches were captured.. and of course a lot more tears and laughter. Hollie surprised her guests with a Blues Brother Band which were amazing and so full of energy. The girls were all up and dancing the night away and we finished the evening with another Bride and Groom dance with everybody cheering.
Thank you so so much Rob and Hollie for looking after me and asking me to be your wedding photographer. I had an amazing time and I can’t wait to go back to Sandhole Oak Barn to photograph another wedding there!
