Manchester Wedding Photography at Ducie Street Warehouse: Amy and Graham

Working as a Manchester wedding photographer really is my dream job – and Amy and Graham’s wedding at the Ducie Street Warehouse was a perfect example of why I love it so much.

These guys had the most incredibly stylish wedding at Ducie Street Warehouse, and the early May bank holiday weekend actually worked in their favour with gorgeous sunshine! When does that ever happen?

Colour, Style and…Ice-Cream

Amy and Graham’s wedding was a riot of style and gorgeous colour combinations, and everyone had the most wonderful time. The sun shone down for the BBQ, and the couple arranged luxury ice-creams and delicious cocktails on the outdoor terrace area for everyone to enjoy.

Of course, as a Manchester wedding photographer working a job, I’m there to focus on capturing everyone having fun using my documentary style photography, so my job is to race around snapping away in the background, making sure I don’t miss a moment!

If you look at Amy and Graham’s wedding photography album, you’ll see how fabulous their colour choices were. Look at Amy’s beautiful off-the-shoulder wedding dress and her perfectly styled dark hair, red lipstick and heels.

Her sumptuous red and white bouquet with the odd pink flower accent really brought all the colours together, and these shades were echoed throughout the decorative scheme.

The colours really popped against Amy’s perfectly white bridal dress, and Graham looked so dapper in his sharp suit. These guys looked like they’d stepped out of a style editorial!

About Ducie Street Warehouse

This wedding was a riot of colour, energy and joy, which worked perfectly with the modern interior of Ducie Street Warehouse, a converted warehouse in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

It combines the original industrial aesthetic of its working heritage with a fantastically fresh and perfectly lit interior.

This space is also incredibly versatile for weddings, with three available rooms and soft seating areas, plus a showstopping open sidebar area and the plant-filled atrium, which is framed with huge industrial windows.

It’s the perfect venue for modern, fresh-styled weddings, and you’ll see how great the backdrop looked for Amy and Graham’s wedding day.

Northern Quarter Wedding Photography Walkabout

One of my favourite bits of the wedding was after the ceremony, when I accompanied the lovely couple on a wander around the Northern Quarter. The NQ is a reportage style wedding photographer’s dream, and visitors will instantly see why it’s always been popular as a film set and for music videos.

Check out the album to see the fun we had exploring the streets! I knew our stroll was going to be busy, but we all had a shock when the crowds on Stevenson Square saw the newlyweds and completely erupted!

What a moment to capture – I think these snaps will be perfect as oversize wall prints in the couple’s home!

The Evening Reception

When we returned to Ducie Street Warehouse for the evening reception, Amy had another surprise up her sleeve as she changed into a fabulous gold @nadinemerabibridal jumpsuit for some serious dancefloor action! This couple were so much fun, and their guests had an absolute ball too.

The photos from the evening reception remind me of a boutique festival; the colours were so vibrant, and everyone was having the best time. Amy even took over the DJ decks at one point; and if you can’t do this at your own wedding, when can you?

Manchester Wedding Photographers Never Work Alone!

As ever, the success of this perfectly executed wedding was down to the work of a highly talented team who prepared everything behind the scenes. Big shoutouts to all the professionals involved in Amy and Graham’s wedding!

You can see the full list below for inspiration, especially if you loved the look of the flowers, outfits or catering in the photos.

We are so lucky to have such a fantastic selection of wedding suppliers and professionals in this part of England. My advice to couples would be to book your first choices as soon as you can, because Manchester wedding suppliers get booked out so fast, especially in peak wedding season.

After the Event

I’m always excited to look through the thousands of photos I take on any North West or Cheshire wedding photography job after the event, because it brings everything back to life, and allows me to select the absolute best images for editing and finishing.

You’ll see from the digital album that I select the photos that capture the day from start to finish, and tell an authentic, emotional story that encapsulates all the energy and feelings involved.

This style of reportage wedding photography is so natural and fluid, but it’s also very technical, and leaves no room for error, which is why so few photographers offer it.

How stunning does the confetti shot look with the whole wedding party outside the Ducie Street Warehouse? I always love this one, as it lets everyone move naturally and with lots of energy and joy at this fun moment. Kids of all ages can’t resist throwing handfuls of confetti over the happy couple, and it’s such an iconic moment to capture.

I think Amy and Graham might struggle to pick their favourite shots from this wedding album, as there were just so many. Huge congratulations to this lovely couple; what a day they put on for everyone!

I take wedding bookings all year round, and even though we are in peak wedding season, I do still have odd spaces in my calendar, especially if there’s a last-minute date change or a short-notice midweek booking.

Please do just get in touch if you’d like to chat about my style, look through my portfolio and see if there’s a fit!
