The Oak Tree of Peover Autumn Wedding

Jess and Charlie’s Cheshire Wedding at The Oak Tree of Peover
Jess and Charlie chose the beautiful Oak Tree of Peover in the heart of the Cheshire countryside for their autumn wedding.
I’ve known Jess and Charlie for a few years now as we all train together at the same gym. When they announced their engagement I secretly was crossing my fingers in the hope they would ask me to be their wedding photographer. Literally within a few weeks of being engaged they had booked the venue and all their suppliers including ME!
I was so excited. When I found out they had booked the Oak Tree Of Peover I was even more excited as I’ve wanted to photograph a wedding here for so long!
The wedding morning and Bridal preparations at The Oak Tree of Peover
The week leading up to the wedding was an absolute washout. I can’t even begin to tell you how much rain we had in Manchester that week so when I arrived in the morning at the wedding venue I was so relieved that the sun was shining and it was forecast to be a dry day! Jess and her bridesmaids spent a relaxing morning being pampered with an awesome hair and makeup team nailing the schedule. Charlie and the boys arrived and were getting ready just downstairs so I was able to dart up and down between the bridal party and the groomsmen. Everybody was so relaxed with lots of laughter and smiles and a few pre wedding drinks flowing.
The Wedding Ceremony in the Ladybird Room at The Oak Tree of Peover
The wedding ceremony room was set up with a rustic Autumn feel with dried flowers in burnt orange and sage greens. The Ladybird room doesn’t need much decorating with the exposed brick walls and the stunning floor to ceiling windows that flood the room with natural light while the high ceilings draw your eyes up to the exposed oak beams. Jess and Charlie had written their own wedding vows, the opening of them were almost identical which had them both giggling mid ceremony.
After the intimate ceremony we all headed outside (which is an absolute miracle for a November in Manchester) for confetti and post wedding ceremony drinks and canapés. The sun was low and golden which made the autumn colours look amazing for a few formal (and not so formal) group pictures.
Bride and Groom Portraits in the gardens at The Oak Tree of Peover
The mass of Manchester rain had left the grass very boggy so we stuck to the paths for a quick 10 minutes of bride and groom photos. The autumn sun was shining through the orange leaves in the trees and the colours looked amazing. I knew the most important thing to Jess and Charlie was to spend time with their close friends and family so we had a very quick and relaxed portrait session before heading back in for reception drinks before the wedding breakfast.
The Wedding Breakfast and Speeches
Jess and Charlie (ok mostly Jess) did an amazing job of planning the table decor for the wedding breakfast. They opted for round tables with hand drawn place names and dried flower centrepieces. By the time we got to speeches it had gone dark but being quite confident and experienced with autumn and winter weddings I bounced a little bit of flash and brought lots of ambient light in from the room that was filled with fairy lights.
