Emily and Alistair’s Wedding at The Oak Tree of Peover

I’ve been lucky enough to work as a Cheshire wedding photographer at The Oak Tree of Peover several times, and I really love this venue. It’s just beautiful!

The Oak Tree of Peover is an intimate wedding venue situated in a rolling 30-acre estate in the charming village of Peover, near Knutsford. It’s also renowned for being one of the most stunning barn venues in the North West, and I was so excited to see how Emily and Alistair had done it up for their big day!

Even after years of working as a Manchester wedding photographer for years, no wedding is ever the same.  It just goes to show how much can be done with themes, flowers, colours and outfits to create that personal stamp and unique atmosphere. And I’m there to capture it all!

The morning of Emily and Alistair’s Wedding

The beautiful bride got prepped at her parents’ house, which made for such a chilled and relaxed vibe. The bridesmaids looked so pretty in their deep wine red dresses, with a single shoulder strap, nipped in waist and flowing skirts.

The beautiful bride

Emily had chosen a beautiful ivory lace fitted dress with spaghetti straps, and a deep scoop back with intricate edging. She paired it with a traditional veil and looked completely radiant, with her long blonde hair worn wavy and half pinned back.

Alistair looked perfect in his sharp black morning suit, with a pale grey waistcoat, white shirt and floral buttonhole. What a gorgeous couple, and so easy to photograph!

The church service

The wedding was a traditional church service in a beautiful church, and it was so lovely. With a close gathering of loved ones, it felt like such a personal, thoughtful service.

Afterwards we gathered on the steps for some relaxed group shots, complete with Emily’s train in a pool of gorgeous lace around her feet. Her summer bouquet in soft pinks with gentle green foliage really finished the look.

The reception

After the service, everyone headed to the Oak Tree of Peover for stylish drinks, the most delicious canapes, and an evening meal and dancing. What a perfect order of service for a wedding!

I knew Emily and Alistair had been really excited to find a Manchester reportage style wedding photographer, as this style of work is very hard to find.

Why? Because it’s incredibly technical, despite looking so natural and authentic. It’s also very on-trend at the moment as everyone wants that ‘documentary style’ photography that looks very editorial.

The outdoor shots

It also worked beautifully to capture every moment of the day. I loved shooting the happy newlyweds outdoors in the beautiful green landscaped gardens of The Oak Tree of Peover. Each of these shots deserves to be printed and framed!

We then went into the barn where the high ceilings and bright light provided the perfect backdrop to stunning floral bouquets and garlands, and beautiful white linen with twinkling tealights.

Gorgeous Golden Hour!

Of course, I was thrilled when we had the most glorious golden hour imaginable, and I swept Emily and Alistair back outdoors for some more private couples shots together. These look so magical with the warm orange light and the movement in Emily’s veil and dress.

In the evening, everyone went wild on the dancefloor and I stayed to catch some of the action before disappearing off with a camera absolutely full of shots!

After The Event

My work’s only half done on the day! A huge part of being a Manchster wedding photographer is the post-event sifting and editing. I always make sure I have a good mug of coffee before I start going through each of the photos on my reel, and there are thousands from every event.

I select the best and then edit them carefully to ensure every image looks as vibrant and colourful as the day itself. And then when this is all done, I upload the album to a private digital account for the happy couple to review and share.

If my clients want prints, I can organise those too. It’s always a shame otherwise to leave beautiful wedding photos in digital format. The album is certainly great for sharing, but there’s nothing like a huge high-quality print for a newlyweds’ lounge.

After all, what better way to remember your big day than to see a photo of it every time you come home.

How to pick your perfect Manchester wedding photographer

Every North West wedding photographer has their own unique style and approach to wedding photography.

I take documentary style wedding photographs because I’ve been working in this industry for years and have the skill and confidence to work in this way. It looks easy… but it isn’t!

Know what you want

I also know that my clients tend to love the organic, emotion-filled shots that reportage style wedding photography captures.

Every joke, moment of tears, huge smile and emotional wobble is captured beautifully and authentically in print for years to come, and the finished album really tells the story of the day.

Do your research

To pick your perfect Manchester wedding photographer, do your research carefully, decide which type of style suits you and then shop around!

It’s important to see a portfolio first to see what previous work looks like, and meet your potential photographer to see if you feel comfortable, as that person will be with you all day!

Get in touch

I take bookings year round and my calendar is always open! I’m currently taking North West wedding photography bookings for 2026 and beyond but I have some free weekends due to cancellations.

Please get in touch for a chat and to look through my portfolio. I never say no to a chance to grab coffee and meet a potential couple to discuss their big day plans!
