Kate and Liam’s Styal Lodge Wedding

Wedding morning preparations

Kate and Liam chose to celebrate their wedding at Styal Wedding Lodge which is a stunning wedding venue set in the peaceful National Trust village of Styal, in the beautiful Cheshire countryside.

On the morning of the wedding I started with Bridal preparations at Kate’s parents home where the girls were all being pampered and well fed with a huge spread of food! I’m pretty sure I consumed over 1000 calories of wedding morning nibbles before we had even got to the church!

Meanwhile the boys were getting ready (drinking beers) literally around the corner at Kate and Liam’s house so I popped along for 20 minutes to capture some pictures of them drinking beer, vodka and attempting to put buttonholes on before heading back to the girls in time for them getting onto their dresses. Kate’s stunning wedding dress was a simple and very elegant Suzanne Neville dress.

Catholic Wedding Ceremony at St Johns RC Church in Chorlton

Kate and Liam married at The beautiful and ornate St John’s Roman Catholic Church in Chorlton. The service was full of smiles and the bride and groom were greeted to confetti canons on their exit of the church followed by lots of hugs and congratulations. We had a few formal family photographs outside church before heading to Styal Lodge for drinks and canapés.

Wedding Reception and Celebrations at Styal Lodge

When we arrived at Styal Lodge everybody headed out to the stunning landscaped gardens for some traditional Irish music from the band Quare Craic. It wasn’t long at all before the drinks were flowing and the Irish dancing was in full swing! It was amazing! I don’t usually get to photograph dancing until late in the evening but our lovely bride Kate was not holding back and had everybody up on their feet dancing!

I’ve worked at a few weddings with Gillan and he is an incredible artist! He really knows how to get a dancefloor full. Kate and Liam were obviously the first on the floor with their first dance as newyweds and then literally everybody got up there throwing some (drunken) shapes. It was an absolutely amazing end to a fantastic wedding day and I have absolutely no doubt there will have been some sore heads in the morning!
