Lester Meadows Summer Marquee Wedding

Danny and Rachel’s relaxed summer Cheshire wedding and Chinese Tea Ceremony

When I met Danny and Rachel they told me they were getting married at St Andrews Church in Eccles and celebrating afterwards with a rustic DIY wedding vibe at a new Cheshire venue. The venue was basically a beautiful big open meadow with the options to basically decorate and do as they liked with the space! This was one of the first weddings to be held at Lester Meadows so I was really excited to be the first wedding photographer there to capture some creative photographs. The weather is always a concern when you are planning a wedding in a field! As we well know in Manchester Summer doesn’t always bring sun but on the days running up to the wedding the forecast was looking great. It was 2 days of hard work and graft before the wedding. Lots of family members chipped in putting up tents, decorating with wedding signs and bunting and it looked amazing!

Bridal Preparations

The morning of the wedding started at the Bride and Groom’s home where Rachel and her Bridesmaids were¬† getting ready. It was a super relaxed morning and I had fun capturing the very cute family dogs in between the usual detail pictures of wedding dress, beautiful ballet style wedding shoes, flowers and hair and makeup. I managed to catch a glimpse of Rachel in some beautiful window light as her maid of honour was fastening up her wedding dress in her bedroom.

A Stunning Church of England

As soon as Rachel was ready I headed to the church where Danny and his groomsmen were welcoming the guests and seating them in time for the ceremony. The church was beautiful and the light was amazing in there. The pew ends were decorated with red Gerberas to compliment Rachels bridal bouquet. Very close friends were involved in the ceremony with readings and even some live music from a group of friends that had everybody singing whilst the newlyweds were signing the registers. As Danny and Rachel walked back down the aisle as the new Mr and Mrs the guest blew bubbles which filled the air.

A Chinese Tea Ceremony in the beautiful Lester Meadows, Cheshire

We arrived at Lester Meadows in plenty of time for the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony followed by some group photographs and a quick wander around the orchid with Danny and Rachel to capture some portraits of the two of them. The red apples on the trees looked amazing and fitted in so well with the wedding colours. The planning had all come together so well with garden games, tents for the children to play in and a central area with hay-bales to sit on around a huge fire-pit. It was a very relaxed vibe, no seating plans or formality as most weddings have. Guests were able to help themselves to the amazing buffet style BBQ and home baked cakes and ice cream and sit where they liked on the long trestle tables in the wedding marquee.

Golden hour bride and groom portraits

The evening sun was amazing so it was the perfect chance for a few more pictures of the bride and groom walking through the field in the sunset whilst the Ceilidh band were setting up. The evening reception went late into the night and ended with a spectacular firework display.

Here are a few of my favourites from the wedding. Thanks to all the staff at Lester meadows for being super organised and helpful. Congratulations again Danny and Rachel! I had an amazing time photographing your wedding! Thank you so much for choosing me to be your Lester Meadows Wedding Photographer.
